We've Added Gobo's!!

In addition to our other light packages, Fred and Clark have added Gobo's to their packages. A Gobo is a custom made logo that the bride/groom design. Here are some examples of recent weddings that we used them at:

Custom CD's by Clark

I make a custom CD for all of my wedding clients. It contains all of the formal songs such as first dance, bride/father dance, groom/mother dance, cake cutting song, etc. I also try to fit as many of any of the other songs requested by my brides and grooms on the disc as well. Each CD also has a custom label on it. Here are some examples of the ones I have made so far for the 2009 wedding season.

Weddings at the Red Barn, South Berwick Maine

2009 picked up right where 2008 left off. My last wedding of '08 was a Christmas style wedding on December 27th at the Red Barn for Ron and Andrea L'Esperance. They chose the Red Barn because it looks exactly like their new home. They had a gorgeous cake from confectionart.com. Their holiday flowers were done by my good friend Christine (Flowers By Christine). I was back at the Red Barn on January 4th kicking off 2009 with Jake and Caitlin Parker. Jake along with his best man were former 'high end' DJ's from Phoenix. It was quite entertaining as they put their DJ hats back on for a few songs and the crowd went wild. Jake, now in the entertainment business in Las Vegas, had his brother, who is an unbelievable jazz pianist, play pre-ceremony and ceremony music. To top it off, American Idol season six top 24 contestant Rudy Cardenas from Los Angeles was a groomsman. He's a super guy who along with his wife has one of the top wedding bands in LA.
After 2 months off for much needed knee surgery it was back to the Red Barn once again for another great wedding. Working with Jeff Maldonis and Sarah is like working with a very well oiled machine. Everything is always perfect and the venue is beautiful. FYI, the Red Barn is taylor made for Gobo ligts. I was able to bring along another good friend, Violinist Lynne White McMahon who played music for the ceremony. We feature Lynne on our site. Clark, Doug and I will be doing weddings at the Red Barn throughout the 2009 wedding season.

Clark's Meeting House Wedding on 5/16/2009

The reception for Katie Ann and Andrew Mentus at the Meeting House on Saturday, May 16, 2009 was one for the ages. Approximately 190 people attended the event, and it was high energy from the beginning to the end. Once dancing started, the floor was packed and never let up until the last dance was over!! The use of the Gobo light (see the picture), as well as dancing lights further enhanced the event. I used my full setup with my large Mackie speakers and a subwoofer, and the sound was as great as you could ask for. Everybody had a fabulous time, and many people commented on their way out about what a great time it was.

The bride was kind enough to already send me an e-mail thanking me. Here is what she had to say:

Clark,

Thanks so much for everything. We had an amazing time!!!! I would be happy to give references for you.THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!

Best,
Katie

Look at the included pictures to see some of the fun we all had at the reception.

Fred's Weddings

May 2nd was beautiful day for Christa and Greg Silva's wedding at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. It certainly was a day with many different styles of music. Music for the ceremony was performed by a jazz duo, something that I have never seen before. It worked out extremely well. Although I didn't get their names, they are at Jonathans in Ogunquit every Saturday night. They used the whole property for their celebration. The 'on site' ceremony was by the lighthouse with cocktail hour over by the gazebo with Creole music flowing through the air.
Next it was on to dinner and dancing. We lit up the dance floor with our new gobo projector light featuring a great bride and groom logo designed by Christa and Greg. The picture above shows what it looked like.
The day ended with an after party at Federal Jacks where many of the guests continued the celebration until 1:00 AM.

May 3d I did a wedding for Jonathan and Diane Melsness in the ballroom at the York Harbor Inn. It was quite a gathering with guests coming from many different states. Colorado, Oregon, Georgia, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Texas, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Jon and Diane chose a few songs but for the most part left the music choices up to me and guest requests. Music from every genre was requested as you can imagine. Their party continued in the Cellar Pub at the York Harbor Inn until midnight.

May 9 Brought me to Three Chimneys in Durham, N.H. For Taylor Connor and Hyun Ju Kim. An interesting wedding with a Korean flavor. Hyun Ju's mom made the dresses for Hyun Ju and her bridesmaids. Three Chimneys is known for their ability to create specialty cuisine for their wedding guests. They offer a beautiful gazebo area for ceremonies. Cocktail hour is on the patio and the main reception is in the ballroom next to the tavern. It was a colorful dance party till the end. All of the vendors were friends of the Bride and Groom.

This is what Angela & Jared had to say about it:

DJ Clark,
Jared and I want to thank you for the wonderful job you did at our wedding on April 17th. Everything was perfect. The music, the announcing you did, the vibe at the wedding due to your presence, etc. It was all wonderful. We appreciate all that you did. We had a GREAT time at our wedding, mostly due to the music you played. We will definitely recommend you to anyone we know who is getting married. We greatly appreciate the CD of songs you gave us that night. What a nice treat and surprise! I have not taken it out of my car CD player since the wedding day! Thank you again. You made our special day that much more special!

Take care,
Jared and Angela Avery

I did my next wedding on April 25 at the York Harbor Inn for Robyn and Brian Carroll.
Venue: York Harbor Inn, York, Maine
Photography: Nadra Photography, Saco, ME
Transportation: York Trolley Company

Here are their comments:

Hi Clark,
Thank you very much for everything the other night. Everyone kept saying people always remember great food and music and that we had both. You can absolutely add us to your reference list. As for the video, my Aunt unfortunately was unable to come so we're going to make a copy for her and we'll just make another copy for you. Don't worry about giving us money for shipment, it shouldn't be much. It may take a couple weeks, though, since Robyn's family went up to Bar Harbor after the wedding, but we'll get it to you as soon as we can.
Thanks again!!
Brian and Robyn
